I founded 633 Engineering to pursue my long term obsession with producing the ultimate in electric guitar amplification.
My amplifiers represent the culmination of more than 30 years experience working in Pro-Audio, designing, building, servicing and customising backline and professional audio electronics and over 35 years of playing electric guitar.
I wanted to create an amplifier that would allow each guitar's unique voice to be heard without masking its tone in any way. I wanted an amp that could have its sweet spot at any volume level and that would allow me to use the guitar's volume and tone controls to maximum effect. It had to be reliable and give consistent tone night after night. It also had to be a thing of beauty.
633 amplifiers are designed and built to the highest no-compromise standards. Classic designs have been refined and new features added to give the player another level of tonal response, touch sensitivity, versatility and reliability.
Using the very best components they are built to last a lifetime. The designs have been tested and refined over many years and have proved themselves time after time on the stage and in the studio.
Prior to forming 633 Engineering Cliff was the Chief Design Engineer at Blackstar Amplification. Before that he was the Chief Design Engineer at Soundcraft. In both companies he was responsible for many of their award winning products. He has also worked in professional recording studios and as a freelance musician and engineer.

Kirk Fletcher and 633 Engineering
On his 2015 tour blues guitarist Kirk Fletcher used the Groove King and Classic 45. For the 2016 tour we built him a combo to his own spec. The 'Tweed Bluesman' is a 40 watt 2x12 combo based on the classic late '50's 5F6A Fender Bassman with a hefty dose of 633 Engineering to beef up the reliability, get the noise floor to an absolute minimum and add more tonal flexibility. This now resides with Kirk in Switzerland. For this years tour Kirk is using the Jazz & Blues combo which we built for his performance at the Bristol Jazz & Blues festival back in March. There is a glowing review of this amp in this months edition of Guitarist where it scored a massive 9/10 and Choice award.
Kirk is currently touring the UK until October 1st. For more details click here
He is now based in Switzerland so we will be seeing a bit more of him in the UK.
