Custom 36

Astounding tone; harmonics and controlled dynamic response are arguably the best we’ve ever heard from this style of amp
— Guitarist magazine August 2016
All you have to do is plug a guitar in and hold it and music pours out. It must be the work of The Devil! Every guitar sounds terrific and I haven’t even scratched the surface. Like your other amps, I find I just don’t get bored and don’t want to stop playing, the mark of a great instrument. I had to stop playing after about 12 hours because my fingers were getting rough.

This Custom 36 and matching 1 x 12 cabs were specified in black snake skin with illuminating logos on both head and top cab. It has a rich three voice preamp, a power amp with Variable headroom, and a foot switch-able 'More' control.  A single footswitch switch adds a fixed but tweakable gain stage in the preamp and engages the More level control which allows the player to change the amount of drive into the power section.  This simple control opens up so many tonal possibilities adding refinement to traditional "rhythm/lead" switching, maintaining the character of the single channel amp but with the required increase in gain, compression and volume.

The More function is linked in with the studio quality reverb, allowing the size and level of the reverb to be changed when switching, adding another level of sophistication.

  • Three control preamp, Volume and High and Low tone controls
  • Three-position Voice switch
    • Bass light - keeps things really tight when the amp is pushed hard
    • Mid focus - great for fattening up single coils
    • Deep - big round cleans with vintage style breakup when pushed hard
  • Unique 'More' control
  • Lush studio quality reverb with four-way interaction
  • Variable output headroom
  • Three level line output for wet-dry-wet setups
  • 36 watts from 4 x 12AX7, 2 x 6L6
  • 515mm x 211mm x 214mm, 15kg
  • All hand built in the UK
