“Morning Cliff, you’ve knocked it out of the park with the Firefly. I can’t imagine it could suit me better. The range of tones is huge and all of them very authentic and inspiring. It carries over “my sound” beautifully from the Groove King, but in a fantastic small package most at home at volume levels lower than the GK. It worked really well at a Jazz Funk band rehearsal this week. It carried rhythm and lead sounds seamlessly; retaining the same character in both. The sound I chose for that (with a 335) has a lovely hair on the clean tone, sweet trebles and bags of creamy sustain for lead lines. It has a lovely spongy feel under the fingers and it really makes me want to play!! The power control is fabulous and I’ll use this loads for recording I’m sure. It’ll be perfect for my duo gigs too! The Firefly is a single ended class A 1x10 combo delivering up to 7 watts from it’s single 6L6GT output valve and features a switchable drive channel, a lush reverb and a transformer balanced Cab Sim output. A pull tone pot allows the basic voicing to go from Blackface to Tweed and the variable power means you can add in output valve compression and distortion at any volume. It is a tremendously versatile package for recording and for many types of gigs.

The Firefly takes the elegantly simple all valve circuitry of the Dragonfly and adds a cascaded gain overdrive, Reverb and a Cabinet Simulator output making it the complete package for home use, practice and recording and easy integration into a live set-up. The Overdrive is taken straight from the award winning Drive King and has a thick rich flavour, great for soloing. The reverb is the DSP design found in all 633 amplifiers. The dwell or length of the reverb can be adjusted from short to cavernous by accessing the screw through the small hole in the front panel.
